ABOUT THE EVENT:
At this interactive, experiential (small group breakout sessions and interaction with dialogue), and adult learning focused professional development session, participants will gain and develop deeper understanding of how to infuse racial equity and trauma informed and responses practices in the context of their professional practice. Advancing Racial Equity and Trauma Informed and Responses Practices is about enhancing human interaction with BIPOC students, clients, colleagues, families, and communities so that individuals, leaders, community members, teachers, families, and students develop a path of belonging and innovation. Participants will also learn how to support psychological safety in their departments and divisions to enhance a strong sense of belonging. Participants will leave this professional development session with an action plan to advance racial equity and trauma informed and responses practices within their organization. Advancing racial equity, trauma informed and responses practices and psychological safety helps us mitigate the impacts of psychological injuries and get closer to honoring, valuing and dignifying our individual and collective humanity.

This conference is specifically designed for Teachers, Organizational Leaders, Paraeducators, Counselors, School Psychologists, Nurses Educators, Social Workers, Health Care Providers hat work with youth. We are two cisgender BIPOC men who have spent decades working with and serving youth. This space is designed for anyone who provides services to children and youth, both BIPOC and White folks are encouraged to participate. It is intended for youth providers who want to advance racial equity and trauma informed and responses practices within their professional practice in a strategic way.
